Reminder – today’s (Tuesday) Body-doubling is 10-11am on Zoom, link at the bottom of this email, along with the Accountability thread.

Welcome to July in the Quiet ADHD Club

My favourite month of the year and the sixth month of the Quiet ADHD Club! There is a wealth of resources amassed in the Club as well as ongoing support every week.

If you’re new here and wondering what the Quiet ADHD Club is all about it’s an online space where introverted, sensitive women in their midlife who have, or think they have, ADHD can find understanding, guidance, support and connection.

You can read more about the Club and see if it could be of benefit to you by clicking the button below.

What is the Quiet ADHD Club?

Struggling with food and ADHD (plus meal planning, shopping, cooking, clean-up…)?

Eating well when you’re an ADHDer can be such a challenge, and one you’ve struggled with for decades if you’ve only discovered your neurodivergence later in life.

So I am thrilled that we have Rebecca King, author of How to Eat Well for Adults with ADHD, registered dietitian nutritionist and certified intuitive eating counsellor, as our guest expert this month.

Our conversation was so incredibly helpful, validating, compassionate and packed full of practical, actionable advice to help us to deal with the variety of challenges our differently-wired brains have around nourishing ourselves. From making decisions on what to eat and navigating busy supermarkets to cooking and cleaning up afterwards, there’s a lot that can make it feel enormously hard to feed ourselves (and those around us) well.

I know that you’ll find everything Rebecca and I talked about useful (she answered the many questions Club members posed too), I can’t wait for you to watch or listen (or read the transcript). Click the button below to dive in.

Exploration on eating well with ADHD

For paid members this month:

  • Exploration – tackling the challenges surrounding eating well with ADHD

  • Accountability thread – every Monday

  • Body-doubling sessions – 10-11am BST on Tuesdays 1, 8 & 22 July and 2-3pm BST Thursdays 3, 10, 24 & 31 July

  • Q&A – submit your questions and I’ll share my thoughts

  • Personal post – let me know if there’s something specific you’d like me to write about (these have been but won’t always be available to free subscribers)

Plus

  • Paid members will find the other deep dive topics such as overcoming procrastination, calming your overthinking brain, the relationship with our hormones and ADHD, finding focus, and dealing with RSD, in the Exploration section (plus your bonus free course, Exhale).

  • The previous Q&A recordings are available for you to listen to here (transcripts available) where I share my thoughts on a range of issues including making a consistent habit, sensitivity to criticism, organisation systems and hyper focus.

  • Personal posts where I share my own experience of ADHD and insights I’ve gained

Remember, you’re welcome to join in as little or as much as you like. There’s no keeping up and you can’t fall behind.

By hosting the Quiet ADHD Club here on Substack free subscribers can get a look at the different aspects of the Club whereas if it was hosted on another platform none of it would be visible.

Get full access to all the support in The Quiet ADHD Club by becoming a paid subscriber (annual & founding members get treats in the post!).

🙂😊 Tuesday’s Body-doubling

Join us for our Zoom session 10-11am today, Tuesday 1 July, and make progress on something that you’ve found difficult to settle down to, the link is below.

✅ Accountability thread 30 June-4 July

What do you want or need to make progress on this week?

Whatever you’re struggling to do – this isn’t just for work or boring chores, this goes for making space for what gives you joy and takes care of your mental, physical or emotional health too – accountability can help you to make headway on it. And then you’ll feel so good for the action you’ve taken.

So, click on the image below to find this week’s accountability thread and share your intention for this week. By sharing it with our lovely Quiet ADHD Club community you can get encouragement as well as accountability, and celebration for having a go.
