New to the Quiet ADHD Club and not sure what it’s all about?
Essentially, the Quiet ADHD Club is an online space where introverted, sensitive, empathetic women in their midlife who have, or think they have, ADHD can find understanding, guidance, support and connection.

Hi quiet you,
Welcome to a new month in the Quiet ADHD Club
As we move into May, we’re more than a third of the way into 2025 and I feel like we’re getting into the business end of Spring. As I write this it’s a bright, warm day so Summer doesn’t feel far away.
With better weather and longer, lighter days can come more energy, a desire to make stuff happen and get things done. But you also know that it can be incredibly difficult to stay focused on the task at hand as your brain gets pulled off in 20 different directions. (As we find it hard getting started on a task in the first place we explored that in our first topic on overcoming procrastination here.)
So the focus (see what I did there?) of our monthly Exploration for May is:
Find focus and drop distraction
Because it can be so frustrating, right?! And when I asked you in a survey a few weeks ago this came out top as the ADHD challenge you wanted support with.
The Exploration is divided into two parts – in Part 1 we look at why we struggle with focus and are easily distracted AND how we can also get lost in hyper-focus.
Then in Part 2 we explore a whole range of ideas, techniques and strategies to help us attention to what we want or need, from steps you can take in the moment to longer-term strategies, as well as how to reduce the impact of a hyper-focus hangover.
As always the topic is available for you to read or listen to, whichever you prefer.
I can’t wait for you to dive in to this topic and see what makes a difference to you.
Click below to find the Explorations section where both parts of this topic live.

I usually publish posts/emails on Mondays and Thursdays. If your inbox is feeling overwhelming you can choose to switch off emails and instead read posts on the Substack app or website.
To switch off emails:
Go to the Substack website and click on your image in the bottom left corner of the screen. Then, click on Settings in the pop-up menu and scroll down to Notifications. Select ‘Prefer push’ to NOT be sent emails.
😊🙂 Today’s Body-doubling
