Hi quiet you,

How’s the month started for you? Mine began with a cold which is a nuisance but has also forced me to slow down and rest more which is never a bad thing (the body knows what you need).

If you haven’t had a chance yet to check out what’s happening in June in the Quiet ADHD Club we’re exploring the sticky issue of our super sensitivity, particularly to real or perceived criticism aka Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD), this month. We look at why it is that we react so strongly and it feels so painful, as well as lots of strategies to deal with it in the moment and going forwards.

You can find the two Exploration posts (plus all the others) by clicking the button below.

A question for you

I’ve been thinking about how our RSD, this super sensitivity, affects us and the language we use to describe it. I’ve got an idea in mind for a fun little challenge to help build our self-esteem/confidence/worth/regard but stuck on what best to call it!

So, I’m curious, which of these is the word that best describes the impact feeling so vulnerable to criticism and rejection has on you? Just pick one please!

(I edited the poll after two days and the votes all vanished! 🤦‍♀️ However, I know what the percentages were so do please keep voting and I’ll add it to the votes already cast.)

There’s no right or wrong answer here, it’s whichever word you feel describes it best for you. Thanks very much for voting in the poll, it’s hugely helpful to me.

Now, on to…

Today’s Body-doubling

Today (Thursday) you can join me and other Quiet ADHD Club members on Zoom for our second body-doubling session of the week at 2-3pm UK time.

If you haven’t joined us before you’re very welcome! And if you haven’t joined us for a while it would be lovely to see you this afternoon.

Carrying out a task in the presence of others has been shown to make it easier to get the task done than trying alone.

So, by having weekly one-hour zoom sessions (Tuesdays and Thursdays) we can help each other get stuff done from wherever you are in the world. This is where you can focus on a piece of work, a hobby, a household chore or life admin for example, in the company of our community on screen.
