This week in the Quiet ADHD Club – 9 June
Get accountability and Tuesday's Body-doubling session
Hi quiet you,
How are you getting on exploring the topic of our super sensitivity to criticism aka Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria? It may not be comfortable but it’s helpful to notice what your go-to reaction is when you feel like you’re being criticised or rejected, when there’s a look or a tone of voice that makes you feel like you’ve done wrong.
By being aware of what your most common reaction is – it could be a sudden sick feeling in your clenched stomach, or you see red and blow your top, or you feel tearful and want to run and hide – you can recognise it happening and take action to help yourself.
I’d love to hear how you’re getting on trying the different ideas for how to deal with RSD in the comments of the Exploration posts.
In the Exploration section you’ll find all the other topics too like overcoming procrastination, calming your overthinking, finding focus and how our hormones affect our ADHD.
Tuesday’s Body-doubling
It’s quite amazing how having someone else with you, and yes even on screen, can make the difference between doing something you’ve been putting off and not doing it. Which is why we have body-doubling sessions twice a week!
Join us for our Zoom session 10-11am tomorrow, Tuesday 10 June, the link for paid members is below.
Accountability thread 9-13 June
What do you want or need to do this week? It could be anything like:
going for a walk
outlining a project
booking an appointment
planning the week’s meals
reading a chapter of your book
or anything at all
Whatever you’re struggling to do – this isn’t just for work or boring chores, this goes for making space for what gives you joy and takes care of your mental, physical or emotional health too – accountability can help you to actually do it. And then you’ll feel so good for having done it.
So, click on the image below to find this week’s accountability thread and share what you want or need to tick off your list this week.
