Hi quiet you,

So many women discover, or start to think, they have ADHD in their midlife because of changing hormone levels around perimenopause and menopause. Having been able to just about keep things together (although not always) it now feels like the wheels are coming off as it’s just not possible to carry on in the same way.

As I created The Quiet ADHD Club specifically for midlife women who are more introverted, sensitive, and who are in this discombobulating place of realising their ADHD and navigating perimenopause or menopause (along with the rest of life, work, family…) I knew the first quarterly guest I wanted to bring to the Club would be an expert on the relationship between women’s hormones and ADHD.

Explanation, understanding, empowerment

In my conversation with Adele Wimsett for our April Exploration we talk about how fluctuating oestrogen and progesterone levels affect our ADHD traits, the impact of HRT, adrenal function, how to talk to your GP or primary healthcare professional about it, and what we can do to support our hormones and by doing so impact our ADHD traits, and more!

There is such valuable information in the 45mins video (audio and transcript also available), you’ll feel so much more clued up about what’s going on inside you, and empowered to take better care of yourself.

Accountability thread 7-11 April

What do you want or need to do this week? It could be anything like:

  • messaging a friend

  • doing some yoga

  • cleaning the bathroom

  • taking a donation bag to the charity shop

  • booking an appointment

  • or anything at all

Whatever you’re struggling to do – this isn’t just for work or boring chores, this goes for making space for what gives you joy and takes care of your mental, physical or emotional health too – accountability can help you to actually do it. And then you’ll feel so good for having done it.

So, click on the image below to find this week’s accountability thread and share what you want or need to tick off your list this week. By sharing it with our lovely Quiet ADHD Club community you can get encouragement as well as accountability, and celebration when you complete it.
