Hi quiet you,

Before we get to today’s body-doubling I just wanted to say thank you.

Thank you for being here.

I’ve been reflecting, with support (so helpful to have another person to talk things over with), on what drives me, on my values, what nourishes me and gives me joy.

I created the Quiet ADHD Club, as I have done in the past with other clubs, because I wanted to create a space where I and other women like me could feel we belong. Because for so much of my life, and I’m guessing yours, I felt on the outside, on the fringe, never being fully included.

It came to me with a clear knowing when the first words that popped into my head after I received my diagnosis were, “Where are all my quiet ADHD women?”.

I knew there had to be women like me out there, feeling alone, and I knew I wanted to connect with them. With you.

And here we are.

If you resonate with what I write about here, whether you know or think you have ADHD, and perhaps autism or another neurodivergence, you are very welcome.

So thank you for being here. Thank you for reading and listening, whether you comment or not, you’re here and I’m grateful for you.

And I hope that you find connection, comfort, reassurance, encouragement and understanding as well as lots of practical help from being in this Club.

You can always get in touch with me by replying to any of my emails, commenting on a post or by clicking the message button.

Today’s Body-doubling

Now then, today (Thursday) 2-3pm UK time, you can join me and other Quiet ADHD Club members on Zoom for our second body-doubling session of the week.

Carrying out a task in the presence of others has been shown to make it easier to get the task done than trying alone.

So, by having weekly one-hour zoom sessions (Tuesdays and Thursdays) we can help each other get stuff done from wherever you are in the world. This is where you can focus on a piece of work, a hobby, a household chore or life admin for example, in the company of our community on screen.
