Hi quiet you,

Two of my favourite hours of the week are those spent with Club members in our Body-doubling sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Even though I often spend that time doing tasks I’ve been procrastinating! Because the two times of the week when I’m most likely to overcome my procrastination is when I’m body-doubling on Zoom with the lovely women in this community.

We have a little chat at the start where we share what we’re going to be doing. It’s so lovely to learn more about each other and I always find what others are tackling interesting, from work projects to sewing to tidying to filming videos to prepping a meal to reading to sorting emails to writing…

And then we switch off our mics, leave our videos on and get on with whatever it is we want to do. That’s where the magic lies – each of us on screen beavering away in our own little corners of the planet and just knowing that we’re there is what gets us to do the thing we’ve been putting off.

Just before the end of the hour we check back in and there are smiles at the progress that has been made, tasks completed or the realisation they’re in flow so will continue after we sign off.
